Fresh out of Wine Spectator’s Tasting Room, Lambrusco Sorbara Vecchia Modena Premiums

Wine Spectator’s Italian editor, Alison Napjus, suggests 10 bedazzling sparkling wines for late summer enjoyment that are also a great value.

Among Alison’s top ten is Secco Lambrusco di Sorbara Vecchia Modena Premium 2022 with an 89 point score and a superb value at under 20 dollars.

She describes, “A lip-smacking sparkling rosé that's a light ruby red in color, with a floral overtone and notes of wild strawberry, damson plum, orange peel and spices. Plush and creamy.”

Vecchia Modena Premium is produced from a massal selection of old Sorbara clones cultivated on the Chiarli Estate in Sozzigalli. The single fermentation from chilled grape must, makes this Lambrusco Sorbara one of the most aromatically complex and particularly expressive among Lambrusco sparkling wines.
